  New Zealand Trade and Enterprise is running a free roadshow during October for exporters wanting to win international government business. The roadshow features an impressive lineup of speakers who will cover the key markets of opportunity for New Zealand businesses – the USA, Australia, the UK and the EU. Events are being held in Whangarei, New Plymouth, Palmerston North and Invercargill from Monday 19 October 2015.


  In July New Zealand joined the World Trade Organization’s Government Procurement Agreement, which is now in effect. This means New Zealand businesses have guaranteed access to bid for an estimated US$1.7 trillion in annual overseas government contracts.


  New Zealand companies are now able to do business freely across 43 WTO member countries, including the US, Canada, Japan and 28 countries of the EU.
